Call to Order: President Judy Ciampoli called the
meeting to order at 6:57 PM
Reading of the
minutes: July Council meeting minutes were approved as revised
on August 6th, 2007.
Treasurer’s
Report: Bill
Anderson reported (handed out report) that:

Did an overview of the income vs. expenses so far.
Net gain of $2,000.

Dues coming in slow so far.

Reviewed the proposed budget 6/1/21007 thru
5/31/2007.

Legal costs are higher than $20,000 budgeted. About
$24,000 so far. Anticipate $26,000 over this year and the new budget year.
2.
Put some money in for trail maintenance. Suggest
$2,050 – vote approved
3.
Vote approved the budget with the addition above.
4.
Discuss how we can spend less money in the new budget
year at a future meeting. Question about the La Reunion expenses.

Committee
Reports
Building: Bill Anderson updated the committee:
- Next steps toward the planned improvements can
now take place:
1. Price for improvements were held – no increased costs
2. County Board has approved the funds.
3. More updates on progress at the next meeting.
Land Plan: Elaine Hill updated the committee:
- The
Fort Lowell Restoration Advisory Committee met this week. More meetings to
follow.
- Master
plan will take 1 year to get approve. This will be around the restoration
work – what is to be done. How will the funds be used for the restoration?
- Stabilization
of the buildings and grounds being done concurrently.
- Funds
coming from a series of County Bond issues.
- Open
question: Elaine asked all of us to think about what our vision would be
for the Park and historic site and get back to her with any suggestions.
- Elaine
has forwarded a draft of the agenda for next Advisory committee Meeting
scheduled for August 29,2007 to all of the board members.
TMC: Elaine Hill updated the committee:
- Lots
of questions/concerns as to what is really going to happen with the PAD –
Planned Area Development.
- Elaine
wants to have a meeting before going to the zoning examiner to determine
what we want to do and recommend concerning the TMC proposal.
- Elaine
asked local experts on sustainability to evaluate the sustainability
issues about this program.
Membership:
- Dave
Olsen has already contacted the city about addresses for all living in the
neighborhood so that we are not sending out redundant notices.
- Judy
and Dave to discuss more about how to advertise the Neighborhood
Association.
- In
another month we will send out reminders to those who did not pay. (Only
got 130 pledges out of 300 from last year)
Old Business
Legal Issues: Judy discussed:
- Concerning
the de Pagter issue and the agreed to statement of resolution -” The OFLNA
and the de Pagter family are pleased to announce that all disagreements
between them have been settled to their mutual satisfaction”. It will be
placed in the OFLNA Newsletter in an article by Bill Anderson on the Building
project progress.
Rodney Glassman: Judy discussed:

Meeting will take place August 30th at
5:00PM –
location to be determined. He is a Political candidate who would like to meet
with us to understand neighborhood issues.
- Tucson Birthday: It
was celebrated at an Irish Fiddle concert on August 11, 2007.
September 23rd Potluck:
- Simon
Herbert - ask him to give update on
Adkins property at the Potluck.
- Ask
volunteers to come by 4:00 pm to help out.
New Business
Antiques and Collectables –

Keep November 1st open – Thursday. –
Preview for members
- Keep
November 2nd and 3rd and 4th the sale
continues – need volunteers
By-Laws update – Judy will
take that responsibility on.
Pro-Neighborhood group – Can we
get funding from them?
Next Meeting:
